National Cadet Corps
about the nccThe National Cadet Corps is the Indian military cadets' corps, with its head Quarters at New Delhi. It is accessible to school as well as college students on a voluntary basis.The National Cadet Corps in India is a non-profit organization that recruits cadets and cadets from high schools, colleges and universities throughout India. The cadets receive basic military instruction in the use of small arms and parades. Cadets and officers have no obligation to serve in serving in the military once they've completed their education but are considered to be more qualified than normal candidates in selections depending on their achievements within the Corps.

Aims of NCC
1.To cultivate qualities of character, courage, comradeship, discipline and leadership the spirit of adventure, sportsmanship. 2. To promote selfless service to the youth in order to become a useful citizen.
2.To create a human resources with a well-trained and organized youngsters who will provide leadership in all aspects of life, not just for the Armed Forces and be always in the service of the nation.
Oath
"I do hereby solemnly promise that I will serve my motherland most truly and loyally and that, I will abide by the rules and regulations of the National Cadet Crops. Further under the command and control of my commanding officer I will participate in every camp most sincerely and wholeheartedly".

We the cadet of the national cadet corp, swear in a solemn way to always stand up for our unity in india.We commit to being a an upright and responsible citizen of our nation.We will perform positive community service in the attitude of selflessness and concern for the well-being of our fellow human beings.
The NCC in India was formed through the National Cadet Corps Act of 1948. It was raised on July 15, 1948. National Cadet Corps can be thought of as the successor to the University Officers Training Corps (UOTC) that was founded under the British at the time of WWII. The UOTC was established during World War II, the UOTC failed to meet expectations set by British. This led to the idea that some better schemes could be developed, that could allow more young men to be trained with a higher standard of training even in times of peace. A committee led by Pandit H.N. Kunzru urged a cadet organisation to be established in all schools as well as colleges at a national level. This National Cadet Corps Act is approved by the Governor General, and on July 15th, 1948, the National Cadet Corps was put into existence.
During the wars of 1965 and 1971 in the wars with Pakistan, NCC cadets were the second line of defence. They organized camps to aid the ordinance factories, supplying ammunition and weapons to the front, and also were used as patrol parties to capture enemy paratroopers. The NCC students also worked with Civil Defence authorities and actively participated in rescue operations in traffic and rescue work. Following the 1965 and 1971 Indo-Pak wars , the NCC syllabus was overhauled. Instead of being merely the second line of defence NCC syllabus put greater emphasis on the development of leadership and Officer-like qualities. The military-related training that NCC participants received was cut back and more weight was given to other areas like youth management and social services.
National Cadet Corps (India)
The National Cadet Corps is the youth wing of the Indian Armed Forces with its headquarters located in New Delhi, India. It is open to school as well as college students on a an ad hoc basis as the Tri-Services Organisation, comprising the Army, the Navy and the Air Wing, engaged in developing the young people of India into well-mannered and patriotic citizens. The soldier youth foundation that is based in India is a voluntary organization that recruits cadets from high schools, higher secondary colleges, universities and colleges all over India. The cadets receive a basic military training , using tiny arms, as well as in drill. The officers and cadets bear no liability for serving in the military once they've completed their training.
